Off Limits project is about redefining the waterfront of the city of Kavala, North Greece.

The prominent boundaries of the site are the water and the Historical Defence wall. The aim is to go off limits, emphasize the collective memory and form a new identity for the space.

The water is used as a “platform” where the urban tissue meets the public space. With the absence of any port fuctions nowadays, the space is available to public space’s facilities, such as cultural events, recreational and soft sporting activities, strolling or relaxation.

Moreover, the building that used to hold port functions is being reformed to an open-closed continuum space, where exhibitions and other cultural activities take place, while there is a café for refreshment and relaxation.
